Hardy Perennial and Scented Violas with Jack Willgoss

1 May 2019

Jack Willgoss from Wildegoose Nursery in Shropshire gave an informative and very amusing talk last night. He explained about the benefits of hardy violas in comparison to the commonly seen bedding pansy.

Violas flower for months from spring to late summer, are hardy and truly perennial. Many are heavily scented too.

We sadly only had a small audience - perhaps because of the weather - but they made the most of the plants for sale that Jack had brought along!

A few members were already fancying an informal visit to the nursery (Shropshire) in the summer to see the restored glasshouse (c1840).
