Orchard Tour and Tasting

Meet at Great Parton Farm, Eardisley, HR3 6NX
We are now unable to visit Artistraw Cider as planned, so we have arranged a tour & tasting with Orgasmic Cider instead.
With over 100 acres of commercial & organic cider and perry orchards, see for yourself where the fruit is grown*. Then visit the Production Building where the Cider & Perry is made. Finally enjoy a tasting session, (apple & pear juice also available), with great names like: Yarlington Mill, White Jersey, and Brown Snout. Informal talk by owners Steve or Andrew Layton, explain the cider making process.
Tour:: 1 – 1.5hr
£10/each. Non-members welcome.
Followed by bring & share tea and time to browse the shop at your leisure.
*NB: Visitors not wishing to walk can browse in the shop or sit at the picnic tables in the orchard & enjoy the views.

Climbing and Wall Plants
Wednesday 7 October, 7.30pm, Vowchurch Hall
Climbing plants and wall shrubs bring high-rise beauty to our gardens. Gordon Malt will show us how to choose the right site and soil, how to support them, and how to feed, maintain and propagate them.
Gordon is a retired tree surgeon who trained at the Royal Botanic Gardens.

Preserving the Harvest

How to waste less from your garden and deal with gluts! Far beyond jam and chutney: dehydrating, canning, and fermenting. There aren’t many weeks in the year when Kevin Alviti (from An English Homestead) isn’t preserving something for future use.
Note: this event takes place on a Thursday due to Hall availability
